Born in Lahore, Pakistan, Qaisar Iqbal graduated from the National College of Arts, Lahore, with a Masters in graphic design and illustration. He possesses over 18 years of experience in teaching at a University level including National College of Arts, Lahore, Indus Valley school of Art and Architecture and Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, VA. His artwork is in both private and public collections, and he has numerous exhibitions to his credit. He currently resides in Richmond, Virginia.s a multi-dimensional artist with a wide variety of subjects; stylistic equestrian action, graceful movements of golfers, expressive cityscapes, elegantly rich Qur’anic verses, and subjects from the context of daily life. His artwork is a result of personal, artistic experience and photographical references juxtaposed in order to create a new realm. His paintings reflect the process of combining gathered information, personal memory, and intuitive response. Exploration and adaptation of contemporary principles, combining tradition and modernism, gives a vibrant and new look to his art. Strong evidence of draftsmanship, controlled drawing ability, and a carefully calculated color palette are the foundations of his work.
Qaisar Iqbal does not restrict his creative parameters to any particular subject. He believes in producing compelling work on any subject into any medium and scale. From the interplay between abstract and experiential, he hopes to construct a visually poetic syntax that offers an elegant means for understanding ourselves and our surroundings.
